It is an eye-opening experience, having an enemy. The challenge is to keep your own heart free of the corresponding hatred that would naturally develop, in response. One of the best ways to keep your heart flowing clear is to pray for your enemy, forgiving them completely and continually! If you are a Christian who has been born of the Spirit, you are capable of doing this, because you are “dead to sin and alive to God (Romans 6:11).” This flow of forgiveness on your part opens the door for God to work a miracle, and sometimes, an enemy can become your dear friend. This can be an unexpected way that God “delivers” you.
Deliver Me From My Enemies
Deliver me from my enemies
Deliver me, oh my God
Defend me from them
That rise up against me
In the day of my trouble
But I will sing of Thy power
Yea, I will sing aloud of Thy mercy
In the morning, or Thou hast been
My defense and my refuge
In the day of my trouble
Unto Thee, oh my strength
Will I sing, will I sing
Unto Thee, Oh my strength
Will I sing, will I sing
