Praise Ye The Lord

Psalm 147:1-7, 11-12

This is a perfect example of how to memorize long Scriptures through song.  If I was ever in a place where I could not have a Bible, I could sing these verses over and over to myself and be comforted.  I could share them with others and comfort them.  Sometimes, I sing the third verse when I look up at the stars at night, reminding myself of how perfectly God is in control of everything in the universe, knowing that the God who has named every star is my God and my King.

Praise Ye The Lord

Praise ye the Lord for it is good
To sing praises unto our God
For it is pleasant and praise is comely
Oh praise ye the Lord

The Lord doth build up Jerusalem
He gathers together the outcasts of Israel
He healeth the broken in heart
And bindeth up all their wounds

He telleth the number of the stars
He calleth them all by their names
Great is our Lord and of great power
His understanding infinite

The Lord lifteth up all the humble
He casteth the wicked down to the ground
Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving
Sing praise upon the harp to our God

The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear Him
In those that hope in His mercy
Praise ye the Lord, Oh JerusalemOh praise Thy God, Oh Zion
