Have you ever been in a place where everything seemed hopeless and no answers were to be found? Where you felt that the circumstances of life had become so insurmountable that you cried out to God with only one sentence, over and over, “Help me God, help me!” because multiple words seemed superfluous and your pain indescribable? It was a time like that which gave birth to this song. God did not leave my soul in Sheol, and He did indeed counsel me through “the darkness of night,” step by step.
